Privacy Policy
The short version: Card Grid Math reads your cards on your device. Photos are never stored or sent anywhere. The only data the app sends is feedback you choose to give. There are no accounts, no ads, no third-party code, and no tracking.
What the app does
Card Grid Math totals one hand of the Skyjo card game from a photo. You point the camera at your cards (or pick an existing photo), the app reads the values on your device, you confirm them, and it shows the total. That is the entire product.
Camera and photos
The app asks for camera permission for one reason: to photograph your cards so it can read their values. Recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The captured image is held in memory only while you review the result — it is never saved to your device, never added to your photo library, and never transmitted anywhere.
If you choose a photo from your library instead, the app uses Apple's system photo picker, which shares only the single photo you select. The app has no access to the rest of your library.
Feedback
Starting with version 1.1, you can tell us how the app is working — from Settings, or when the app occasionally asks "How's it working?" at the top of the camera screen. Nothing is sent unless you answer.
When you answer, the app sends your answer (Loving it, It's okay, or Not quite right), any topics you pick, the note you type (if any), and your email address only if you add it to ask for a reply. It also sends the app version and build number, your iOS version, your device model (for example "iPhone17,1"), your language and region setting, and whether you answered from Settings or from an in-app prompt (the prompt only appears after you've used the app on a couple of separate game nights). Recognition can behave differently across iPhone models and iOS versions, so this helps reproduce problems.
Feedback never includes photos, card values, or totals, and never includes an advertising or device identifier. Each answer carries a random ID used only to avoid storing the same answer twice.
Feedback goes to a small service the developer runs on Cloudflare, which hosts it and processes the data on our behalf. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is never stored. Answers are kept for 12 months and then deleted. If your answer includes a note or an email address, a copy is also emailed to the developer so it can be read and answered; that copy is kept only as long as needed to follow up. If you add your email, it is used only to reply to you, and you can ask us to delete your feedback at any time by writing to the address below.
Data storage and sharing
The app keeps no history of your hands: when you leave a hand or close the app, the photo, card values, and total are gone. To decide when to ask for feedback, it stores on your device how many separate game nights you've used it for, the time of your last finished scan, and whether and when it last asked you for feedback, plus any feedback waiting to send while you're offline. None of that leaves your device except the feedback itself, and deleting the app deletes all of it. We don't sell feedback or share it with anyone.
Children
The app doesn't require any personal information. The optional feedback form lets you add a note and an email address, and you never have to use it.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this policy will be updated here and the effective date revised before that version is released.
